as Autumn sets in I say Hello to these outfits.... and kiss some others goodbye until next year...

For me its always about comfort, I want to be able to walk fast, feel appropriately dressed and I also like to look a bit different-not too much though! This is an early Autumn outfit and as it ticks those boxes I feel fine either being in london doing something fashion-ish(say-shopping for clients) or collecting my children from school...
Here  I'm wearing-Vintage bed jacket which I dyed black,1940's organdie and lace blouse, crepe de chine vest underneath, 1970s Lock and co hat(one of my favourite things!-originally my Mother-in-laws- a great present- with its original box.)1940's Hermes belt Zara zoave pants and Maje ankle boots( heel height is almost perfect at 6.5cm- I'd be even happier in 5cm-but NOBODY seems to do them in that heel height!

I've had these Chloe pants for years and I still love them. They are heavy wool and they fall in such an excellent slightly cardboard looking way- probably just as they were sketched. I went to a Barbara Barry lecture at Chelsea Harbour( USA  brilliant interior designer and charismatic dynamo)and this is what I wore with them. I'm wearing my beloved hat again, a vintage 70's broderie Anglaise blouse and my new( oh, excited shopper me...!) bag from Mulberry on my feet I am wearing some platform ankle boots from Topshop £50- you cant see them but they are perfectly invisible under my long trousers; just high enough to give a lift but low enough to walk briskly in!I don't think they are gorgeous but they are servicable

And finally for today, so long  my very favourite sundress, see you next year....we had one final fling the other evening when I went to the Battersa Park Decorative Antiques Fair and lusted after furniture.
1940's cotton seersucker with self belt. Only thing it lacks are pockets so I wear it with the bag protector from my Anya Hindmarch bag!I love the stripes together. I've seen others using these as handbags too. So light and unassuming-and almost anonymous.
